  Environment for Investment
  The international business center to be established in Songdo Information New City has a comparative edge in transportation and convenience over its foreign competitors because of its close proximity to the Incheon International Airport and Incheon Port. With the opening of the international airport, Incheon has become a key transportation point that can be easily reached from 51 nearby cities with more than 1 million population within 3.5 hours. With such a good condition, the city now has a good opportunity to develop into a global hub city.
 
  Plans for Development
  The international business center is expected to host the Asia-Pacific offices of multinational businesses. Songdo New City will do its best to provide institutional guaranty for the best environment for businesses and best living conditions for their employees. With various a wide range of recreation facilities, the city will have the appearance of an international city.

The construction of various buildings, including a 60-story high international business building, department store, shopping mall, and convention center, will be commenced within 2003 on the 880,000 pyeong lot in the international business district Gale of the United States and POSCO Construction have jointly purchased. The construction is expected to be completed by 2008. Domestic contractors are allowed to participate in the development of such subsidiary facilities as office buildings, hotels, and shopping malls.
